This is the homepage of the CreatorsRights email network.

The purpose of this list is to facilitate communication among people working for and with the member organisations of the Creators' Rights Alliance. Membership is open to those who work for or are nominated by CRA member organisations.

CreatorsRights is not "moderated". Your message is sent to list members immediately. This requires discretion on your part. London Freelance Branch NUJ has agreed to provide this "machinery" for the CRA on condition that if we get just one problematic message, we switch immediately to me checking all messages before they are sent out. This would slow everything down.

If your message is intended to be copied widely, please say so clearly on its first line. Please do not forward or re-distribute list messages unless they are so flagged.

Problematic messages would be those which:

  • are actionably defamatory, obscene, criminally blasphemous or just too complicated to legal;
  • contravene Codes of Conduct (e.g. this);
  • have degenerated into "flame wars";

At the moment the list is set to accept attachments (e.g. Word documents) up to 200kb in size. Please ensure that you are virus-free before sending these!
 

Joining the CreatorsRights network

Join ("subscribe to") CreatorsRights by filling in the following form. You should only post messages to the list from the email address you give in the form. For the moment at least, list members will see the address you give on your messages.

You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. Once confirmation is received, your request will be held for approval by the list moderator. You will be notified of the moderator's decision by email. This is also a private list, which means that the list of members is not available to non-members.
