To Bureau members,
As facilitators of the CS, this group is expected to discuss
what civil society can do during the intersessional meeting
in Paris in July before PrepCom III in Sept.
I think this can be CSB's timeline before PrepCom III.
This has not intentionally considered Contents Group activity
in this timeframe.
April. 15 - April 30:
To circulate the updated CSB's terms of reference(ToR) to the
bureau list for comments from other members. This work has
been done by Viola and Alein. In line with this discussion, it is
expected this group as a whole re-open the questions which
were not answered in the PrepCom II due to time pressure.
The criteria of the family. Currently, there are 23 families
overlapping with other existing structures and representation.
Each family focal point is expected to make a status report to
the bureau secretariat in facilitating this discussion.
May 1 - May 15:
To circulate the draft updated CSB's ToR to each family list to
gather responses from the family members.
May 16 - May 31:
To finalize the CSB's ToR based on the comments from family
members and finalize detailed family structure.
June 1 - June 15:
Review on the CSB task forces and their activities.
Focal points of each family update to family members on CSB
task force activities and encourage the family members to
participate in the task forces.
June 16 - June 30:
[your inputs expected.] Paris meeting preparation
July 1 - July 15:
[your inputs expected.] Paris meeting preparation
July 16 - July 23:
[your inputs expected.] Paris meeting preparation
As mentioned several times, this structure was set up as an
interim to respond to the Governmental Bureau in a timely
manner in Geneve. Therefore, as promised, each family is
expected to outreach to the relevant communites and draft
its charter and finalize it. Based on the recognized charter
among the family members, each family conducts the election
to select their focal points.
I am looking forward to working with you to enhance CSB's
function and legitimacy as proposed in its draft.
