Dear All,

I have pleasure and honour to invite you to attend the WFEO Summit event
"Engineering the Knowledge Society" that will be held during the UN World
Summit on the Information Society between 11 - 12 of December 2003 in
Geneva.

WFEO was actively involved in the WSIS process since the very beginning,
organising within the framework of the WSIS on October 2003, the World
Engineering Congress on the Digital Divide in Tunis(www.wfeo-cic.org) . This
event witnessed the participation of more than 160 scientific and
technological organisations from all over the world and resulted in the WFEO
Carthage declaration on Digital Divide (see attachment).

WFEO as a representative of the Science and Technology Family was invited by
the Swiss government to co-organise one of the Summit events, a forum on the
engineering and technology for the information society. Therefore, WFEO in
collaboration with IFIP, SATW and SVI - FSI is going to organise a two days
Summit Event where we will stress on what actions have to be undertaken to
realize a human centred inclusive and sustainable Knowledge Society.
For more details please visit the link http://ict.satw.ch/ see attachment.

We would also like to inform you that a Book of Abstract will be available
soon and a printed version will be distributed among those who are planning
to attend this event. In order to receive this book by regular mail we
kindly ask you to submit your post address sent to: clatext at bluewin.ch
(Claudio Bertolini)
Please notice that this Summit Event will gather more than 10 000 people
from all over the world and Geneva hotel facilities have limited capacity.
We encourage those who are planning to participate in the Summit to make the
necessary bookings well in advance. This link might be useful.
