Dear tracey,
Your questions are more then pertinent. We really need to get ready for
PrepCom 3 and to plan our activities. Thank you.
Coming back to your propositions, I would like to make the following comments :
1. During PrepCom 2, the morning plenary was dedicated to information
sharing and announces, while the evening one was reserved to Content and
themes. It doesnt mean that I dont want to change the order, but we
have to find the best distribution taking into account all the relevant
elements (Civil society statements preparation, speakers designation,
announcing, etc.)
2. The morning meeting start time is ok (9:00), but tow hours is too
much. I think we have to keep our plenary meetings not longer then one
hour each (morning from 9 to 10 and evening from 18 to 19). Sure, we need
always more time, but if we manage well our meetings (agenda predefined,
speaking slots duration limited to a maximum of 3 minutes for example, no
one speaks twice on the same subject, etc.), we will be more efficient in
less time.
3. I would prefer that the last 5 minutes of each meeting to be dedicated
to define the agenda items of the next meeting, rather than the first 5
minutes to define the agenda of the current meeting.
4. I totally agree that the main item to be discussed in the C&T plenary
should be the Internet Governance.
5. For the C&T plenary chair, I think that the experience of PrepCom 2
was successful. We have to appoint a couple of trusted persons for the 2 weeks.
6. Yes, we need to identify a team of volunteers to monitor the PrepCom
plenary discussions, and report back to the CS plenary. Lets try with
Jane since she managed this point well at PrepCom 2. If she doesnt want,
we have to find another team coordinator. I think that this time, there
will be many of us interested in attending the PrepCom plenary, at least
the morning part (about IG).
7. I support you for chairing the first meeting.
8. The CSB should meet daily. I propose 14:00-15:00 (1 hour).
9. OK for an early meeting of the CSB.
10. For the orientation session, and if I remember well, we have decided
at the end of PrepCom 2 that YJ will give a presentation on Internet
Governance basic technical information so that when we will discuss this
very important issues, all civil society participants will be at a level
of knowledge that allow them to be productive. Where is YJ in your programme ?
I hope this will improve our efficiency.
All the best.
Tijani
