Dear Renata and all

Attending the PrepCom for Asia Pacific will be Ms. Angela Kuga Thas,
co-focal point of the Asia Family since Phase 1, who most if not all of you
know. She has registered online and has in fact submitted a request for
fellowship.

It is in this light that we inquire about the status of fellowships, and who
is the decision-making body determining such things for PrepCom2. I assume
Angela's chances of eventually going to Geneva depends largely on her
getting a fellowship, and so we are curious to knknow who is on top of this,
and what the process of selection is. (We all of course know the published
criteria.)

Regards
Al Alegre

P.S. I myself will not be able to attend PrepCom2, though I hope I can
attend PrepCom3 which will be more devoted to Internet Governance issues. It
would be great if Angela is able to attend PrepCom2 (where Financing is the
focus) as she was at the forefront of Financing discussions within the
bureau and in other CS structures in Phase One, as many of you may recall.

and Information for Participants

Dear Renate, Colleagues

I hope you're well and everything is going fine. From our Group Dr. Sohrab
Razzaghi and Mr. Reza Youssefian will attend the prepcom 2 and CSB. Due to
my other assignments I will not be able to attend, hopefully for the next
time I will try. The atmosphere has improved here and is gradually changing,
but still not very normal. I hope my two colleagues being able to work with
you and the team and enforcing our work. Mr. Youssefian, who is replacing me
in the prepcom 3 is a very active person in social and political arena and
has been a member of the sixth reformist parliament of Iran, which many of
them were later on banned for being re-elected. I am sure you all could
work with each other very well.

Good luck and wish to see you.

Best regards

Amir
