I'd like to put forward the idea of creating a CSB information kit
for the upcoming bureau.
The kit in question would include:
* Short biographies and pictures of the bureau members - that way
people would know who we are
* Updated contact information - so people can get in touch with us
* Perhaps a short description of the NGO and/or organization we are with
* Set of usefull links for people to visit
The idea of pictures is one that I raised in Cape Town, and we
agreed? Viola also took pictures, or i think she did?
In terms of what such a information kit would look like, one doesn't
have to far. Perhaps we can do something along the lines of the
NGLS - Contact Staff Page @
http://www.un-ngls.org/contact_and_staff_information.htm
(the short paragraph and pictures are nice)
Several of you have contacted me in regards to updating your contact
information that's online - and i've said i'd like to wait until
there's a clear policy from the bureau as to where the best place to
put the content might be.
Ramin and I have put forward offers in regards to hosting, websites
and other online services. It would be good to get comments and setup
something BEFORE the prepcom.
Here are some sites to look at:
NGLS's WSIS site (section on the CSB)
http://www.un-ngls.org/wsis--csb.htm
The "beta" site that I have placed online and am "waiting" comments
from the bureau members..
http://www.wsis-csb.org/
- this site can allow for each individual bureau members manage their
own content. One will be able to update your section anything, and
can include modern functionality such as RSS feeds, blog, wiki and
file depository.
- it can also accept RSS feeds from other sites
(http://www.wsis-csb.org/news/news-en/)
I prefer the later as it's what i'm offering, it's a bit more modern
then the NGLS site. I won't say more.
Just, as i mentioned earlier - it would be good to have things READY
BEFORE the prepcom
regards
Robert
