Dear all,
Please find the note we just received from Charles Geiger. This clarifies
the situation of overpasses and the reservation of some overpasses for
representatives of the Host country civil society.
I will come back to you tonight with an up-dated note on the overpass
distribution policy.
Best regards,
Philippe

Objet : RE: WSIS Plenary Overpasses for Civil Society
Civil Society Overpasses for WSIS Plenary Meetings
Dear Ms. Bloem and Mr. Kaweh
I am pleased to inform you that the final number of standard overpasses
allocated to civil society participants for WSIS Plenary meetings will be:
16th November: 650 overpasses
17th November: 600 overpasses
18th November: 600 overpasses
We would like to reserve 75 overpasses for the representatives of civil
society organisations from the Host Country , and we will organize the
distribution of these overpasses with the representatives of the Tunisian
civil society separately. The main reason for this special treatment is that
many civil society entities from Tunisia were accredited during the Tunis
phase, they are newcomers and are not integrated in families and caucuses.
They would therefore have difficulties to obtain overpasses. The other
overpasses (575 for the first day, 525 for the second and third day) will
be distributed through a self-organizing mechanism managed by the Civil
Society Bureau. The Civil Society Bureau secretariat is asked to distribute
these overpasses at its information desk in the Kram Palexpo. The WSIS ES
would like to deliver the overpasses in exchange with a distribution policy
document for the plenary overpass.
Sincerely yours,
Charles Geiger
Executive Director W`SIS
