Hallo Karen,
UNDP fellowships:
We sent the attached list to UNDP after they sent more detailed criteria.
This was communicated to all of you: 1 per organization with special
emphasis on some of the issues they wanted covered, etc. ( and you had sent
valuable information) But each candidate needed to fill out an individual
application form.
We then sent the UNDP application form to all on this list again and asked
to send directly to UNDP with copy to us, marked "recommended by CONGO" as
UNDP had requested. We have received some seven in return, maybe eight. I am
not in the Office and Philippe is in Avignon until Monday morning.
It could be that some sent only to UNDP without copying us. UNDP is supposed
to meet with their partners and make their final decision this (Saturday)
morning.
ITU
Anyway, we have to see what remains for the ITU fellowships for which we
received so far 6 applications. That is why we sent it out to Plenary. The
deadline for that one is the 24 October, and you know these two kinds of
fellowships are not related.
It is terrible to work with such delays. You might also know that I have
gone out of my way to get funding, including with many government, EU, EU
Commission etc and wrote then that desperate letter to Utsumi. ITU had let
us know before that no funds were available. To get then something last
minute was positive and yet frustrating because of the delays.
It is a hassle, just for your information,
Renata
