Subject: [CS Bureau] TR: CSB recommendation for CS fellowships at PC-3
Dear CSB Members,
. Please find below the e-mail we received from the WSIS ES, further to the CSB consultation on fellowships.
. You will also find attached the result of the consultation with the exact number of recommendations for each short-listed applicant.
. However I would like to draw your attention to the situation of Titilayo Akinsanmi, whose name was in the WSIS E.S. shortlist, but who informed us very recently that she has got other means to come for WSIS PrepCom-3. But she especially supported Mr. Robert Sagun's application, who is Policy Coordinator of the WSIS Youth Caucus (http://www.wsisyouth.org/phase2-who.php).
We discussed on Friday with Charles Geiger and Moncef Achour from WSIS ES. The arrangement would be that the ITU would keep the other CSB selected applicants, but deleting Titi since she is not applicant, and select one additional candidate instead. They were also concerned by the need to ensure the geographical repartition of fellowships.
Since 4 CSB Members recommended Titlayo for fellowship, and noting that in a recent e-mail to the CSB Secretariat that she underlined the WSIS Youth Caucus would necessitate Robert Sagun's presence for PrepCom-3, my question to CSB members who participated in the consultation is the following:
Would you support Robert Sagun's application, as a CS structure member from an Asia-Pacific developing country, instead of Titi?
We will clarify this situation and let you know as soon as possible.
Best regards,
Philippe Dam
CSB Secretariat

Objet : FW: CSB recommendation for CS fellowships at PC-3
Dear colleagues
Based on the recommendations of the CSB, we have taken the following decision regarding fellowships :
From the LDC participants, we cannot give 2 fellowships to participants from the same country. Therefore we have selected:
R. Salim (Bangladesh)
Mballa Moussa (Senegal)
R. Amegnikpo (Togo)
S.C. Kabenge (Zambia / Namibia. The Media Institute for Southern Africa has its HQ in Namibia, according to our accreditation list)
Regarding the persons from the structure, we agree with
Titilayo Akinsanmi (Youth)
Olinca Marino (Latin America)
Tracey Naughton (Media)
Magaly Pazello (Gender)
Sohrab Razagghi (Middle East and Western Asia)
Delphine Nana (Africa)
We thank the Civil Society Bureau for their support in choosing the fellows.
Sincerely yours
Charles Geiger
Executive Director WSIS
