hey taylor,
realproducer needs a low-res card - the more data the card captures, the
more realproducer has to compress! the best ones i've found are the osprey
100 / 150 or the hauppageWinTV. The osprey can be bought as a bundle from
real.com developers section if you want to start from scratch, or just get
it from source. It's cheaper as it's lower res, but therefore doesnt provide
as good an output for full screen editing as a higher res card - horses for
courses.
Way back when (I dont do editing much these days) I used to recommend the
MiroDC range, not sure if they were Mac, or even if they still exist, but
they were good.
