Sound editing for MacOS.
If you can stand a big download there is always
ProTools Free - a free version of Pro Tools which runs
under MacOS and also there is a Win 98 version.

While free, it is obviously not as fully specified as
the full version of Pro Tools, and which ever version
of Pro Tools you use, it takes a little getting used to.
For more basic sound editing - take a look at Bias
Peak, which is similar to Cool Edit. There are demo
versions on their website at http://www.bias-inc.com
