Streatham Festival and Community Radio Production Group
-----------

Background
Following the Successful Launch of Streatham Festival Radio as part of
the Streatham Festival 5th Anniversary Celebrations last year, we are
back again for another exciting period of broadcasting. Re branded
Streatham SW Radio on this 6th year of the Streatham Festival. Streatham
SW Radio is an exciting community radio project which set up by The
Streatham Festival Organisation, Broadcasting to a lively area with a
mix of cultures and backgrounds among its residents.

Plans under discussion include
Live broadcasting of the Streatham Festival and collaborating with other
broadcasters to provide programming on local topics.

To make it all happen, we have set up RMT Radio Management Team who are
made up of local residents and past production volunteers who are
familiar with the area and its resources.

We are currently are setting up a Radio Production Group:
We are putting together a team of talented people who enjoy making radio
about local issues, arts and events. We are looking for people to act as
reporters and interviewers, to make programmes, to take part in online
broadcasting of events and to share their expertise, all on a voluntary
basis.

If you would like to be part of the Radio Production Group you should:

Have some radio production skills and/or experience which you are
willing to share and be passionate about making radio in a community
setting.
If you also have ideas for guests or programmes, that's even better.
Having your own recording equipment to use, particularly for those who
wish to pre-record interviews, would be an advantage.
Please note that this is a learning and sharing experience rather than a
teaching one and persons would be required to act within a team
orientated environment, but must also have the ability to work on their
own initiative.

The first meeting of the Community Radio Production Group will be held
within the next week. If you are interested, please let us know as soon
as possible to be included in our radio mail out and please also send us
some information about your radio experience whether, community,
hospital, radio, professional etc.

Regards
