Dear GreenNet users,

We would like to take this opportunity to wish warm seasonal
greetings to you all and thank all of you for your continuing
support.  We celebrated our 15th Birthday and would like to thank you
for all of the messages of support you sent.  Our users and the good
work you do continue to be a real inspiration to all of us. 

It has been a really busy year and we are taking a short break to
refresh ourselves so here is some information you will need 

Christmas Office Hours.

Our offices will be closed from 5pm on 21-12-01 (Friday) until 2-1-02
9am (Tuesday).  This means we will not be taking voice calls and
enquiries for that whole period.  We will have technicians monitoring
the systems daily (apart from Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years
Day) and if you have any problems please call us on 0845 055 4011 and
leave a message on our answer phone or email support at gn.apc.org. 
Please make sure you include any error messages that you are getting
and your email address.

Many of the calls we get relate to unwanted attachments.  These are
very easy to get rid of using our new webmail system that we have
detailed below.  So if you do experience download problems please use
webmail first.

New Webmail system.

We have upgraded our webmail system.  Webmail allows you to manage
your email by using a web browser rather than an email program like
Outlook Express or Eudora.  This means that you can check your email
from any computer anywhere in the world that has an Internet
connection (apart from China who block our servers for political
reasons).  It also means that you can remove any large unwanted
attachments and remove any virus-infected emails that may be causing
problems for your email program.  To access webmail go to: 
www.gn.apc.org and click on the web email button.  Please take a
moment to read the instructions before you use it.  It is not
intended to be a replacement for using a normal email program but it
a very good supplement.
