Dear GreenNet friends,
*December 2016*

We'd like to thank you for your support in 2016 and wish you a very merry
festive season. To see when our office is closed for the holidays, please
skip <#opening> to the end of this message.

        2016 in short

  * This year we updated our own website <https://www.greennet.org.uk/>
finally! We welcome your feedback on the new look.
  * We are also pursuing our case against GCHQ, alongside Privacy
International, who lodged an application to take the case to the ECHR
and also filed a Judicial Review.
  * GreenNet turned 30 in November! Some of you even came along in person to
help us celebrate, and others sent lovely messages and even gifts. We
really appreciate the support of all our loyal customers; it makes all
our efforts over the years worthwhile.

                                                                Password advice

After a prominent security breach on Linked In, we strongly
recommend you all not to reuse your GreenNet email password on other
        services
        <https://www.greennet.org.uk/support/got-linkedin-account-read>, and
if you have it would be sensible to change it.

        In 2017...

We'll carry on offering an array of different online services to connect you
and your campaigns up, from renewably powered hosting
<https://www.greennet.org.uk/about/our-green-credentials> to broadband, web
design for big and little sites, and the best spam filtering you can get on
your email account.

        Christmas opening hours

*The GreenNet office will be closed from 5.30pm on Thursday 22nd December
2016 and will reopen fully on Tuesday 3rd January 2017.*

As always, we will be monitoring our servers throughout the festive period.
If you have an urgent query during this time, please send an email to
support at gn.apc.org or leave a message on 020 7065 0942. We'll do our best to
respond as soon as we can.

Meanwhile don't forget to switch off your own devices (don't leave them on
standby) and have a lovely break!

With all our best wishes for a peaceful and happy holiday,

Andrew, Cedric, Ed, Howard, Ian, Liz and Marek
