actually their one year terms ended.  but i would not suggest letting  
that bit of pedantry on my part make a difference for now. the group  
has been asleep for so long i hestitate to think of them as having  
had a year in which to chair; i.e they have had nothing to coordinate.

i suggest that we keep things as they are for now and if we start to  
cook on this list, then we can go back to our formalities.
