going to be co-organizing at the conference will be done by my colleague

Good luck with it.

Then we should plan to do this:

late afternoon on Saturday, June 12: North America civil society meeting
during the CTCNet conference's "birds of a feather" session, where
anyone
can schedule an informal roundtable meeting. I'll inform CTCNet of our
intentions to do this, and will confirm the time. The location of the
meeting will probably not be known until the final program comes out,
but
it'll be somewhere in the main conference area. For more info on
attending
the conference, please visit www.ctcnet.org and click on their annual
conference link. Derrick will work out an agenda for the gathering,
which
will last an hour. (assuming that's the length of this years birds of a
feather sessions.)

Morning of Sunday, June 13: a subset of us will go online to meet with
the
Berlin group. The technology used for this particular meeting has yet to
be
determined. Ralf, please let us know what time you would like to meet
that
Sunday.

I was hoping that we would all meet (NA caucus) for a discussion before
the
meeting with Berlin - otherwise what would be said in the
cross-continent
dialogue ( we need some consensus) ? Also, we need to look at our
structure / reporting / advocacy strategies going in to Phase 2. These
would actually be somewhat different from the EU side.

However, Andy if you think that this is over kill then what we can do is
just set the time with Ralf. Please make sure though that you do post
the
information to the list for all of us on the NA caucus who want to be
present, to be present.

The conference does not represent the NA caucus I just want to be clear
on
that. The NA caucus are those who are on our list. There is always a
problem with WSIS CS on the legitimacy of those who represent the whole.
We
do want to ensure transparency and inclusivity.

So, to move forward:

Andy - please set up a 1 hour teleconference with Berlin for the day and
inform us of the time and location. Please post the "birds of a feather"
activities to the NA caucus list so that people can attend.

Derrick - if you have done work on a full agenda - those of us who are
interested can meet virtually to discuss before June 13th or post it to
the
NA list for discussion as soon as possible. We have a good 6 weeks to
have
a good discussion.

I post this to the NA list as people have approached me for status on
this
activity.

Thank you all for making this happen !

I'm a little unclear if we are to have one meeting or two - are we
meeting
as a group at ctcnet, then going online to report to the Berlin group,
or
are we doing it all at once? As Ralf said, the former might be easiest.

If that's the case, I propose the NA folks meet late saturday afternoon
as
one of the conference birds of a feather sessions, then a subgroup of us
can go online sunday morning seattle time to report to the berlin group.

would that be good? If so I will finalize both meeting times with ctcnet
and ralf, then we can post invitations to the list.
