[WSIS CS-Plenary] UN Official Document System is online

I sent off an email to the NGO liaison to the Department of Public
Information on Friday late, in particular looking for the correct
technical and organizational point-person for further dialogue and
feedback on these issues.

The New York offices of lots of UN bodies don't really get going in the
new year until today, so we shouldn't expect much response until
perhaps Wednesday. But if people would like to start drafting a
statement, I think that would be ok.

Frankly I am more interested in getting an ongoing feedback loop and
dialogue going between civil society and the technical staff and
managers at the UN. Just delivering a statement to them seems a little
simplistic to me, since user consultation is a continual process not an
event. Creating a big political statement and delivering it to
governments might just as easily backfire on us by alienating the very
UN office and staffers we are trying to develop closer relationships
with.
