[WSIS CS-Plenary] Welcome to 2nd Global Forum on Disability

Dear friends,

I'm very happy to invite you to Global Forum on Disability (GFD) on 15th and
18th, 9:00-13:00, at room Amilcar in Kram PalExpo. Please find the attached
draft of the GFD.
The room is inside the security zone, so all the participants need budge for
WSIS. Anyone who would like to register under umbrella of DAISY Consortium,
we delightedly help you.

We understand that most of you would like to know more about exact place of
the room, the accessible route for wheelchair users and so on.
Unfortunately, we can get too little information in this point because
authorities limit their information for the security of VIP.
It will be after we arrive Tunis and get the budge that we can know more
about the venue.

As we are in these situation, we'd like to have a meeting for the
participants of GFD on 14th evening at somewhere in the Iberostar Belisaire
hotel to share the information.
Those who want to share the information but don't stay at Iberostar hotel,
please let us know the time you arrive, the place you stay and the way to
contact you.

Event description



The DAISY Consortium organized the first Global forum on Disability in the
Information Society as part of the summit events during the first phase of
the World Summit on the Information Society held in Geneva in December 2003.



The second phase of the World Summit on the Information Society is to be
held in Tunis on 16-18 November 2005.



This event will be an excellent opportunity to raise awareness of ICT and
disability. Persons with disabilities will also get to know about different
ICT programs, which is available to others. Only if equal participation is
available and guaranteed also to persons with disabilities, ICT will be a
future resource for all. Disability awareness must be included in all ICT
programs, through its development, to the design stage, into its
implementation, monitoring and evaluation.



The 2nd Global Forum will be facilitated jointly by the DAISY Consortium and
the Association BASMA pour la Promotion de l$B!G(BEmploi des Handicapees, as a
part of the parallel events of the WSIS in Tunis.



The objectives of the Forum are to:

l       Promote accessible information and communication worldwide,

l       Share the knowledge of best practices for ICT, and

l       Establish a global link to implement, monitor and evaluate ICT for
further development of the outcome of WSIS.
