information and communication work<BR><BR>Communication, both its tools and
processes, has long been recognised as <BR>central to the women's movement. It
is a vital tool for activism as it <BR>ensures that the issues get heard,
discussed and acted upon. Women's <BR>organisations across the world play an
active role in ensuring that women <BR>are able to communicate with each other
in a meaningful way and that they <BR>are able to communicate their issues,
concerns, views and ideas to the <BR>right audience. This work is now further
highlighted, as Isis <BR>International-Manila prepares to launch Collective
Journeys, a website on <BR>women's information and documentation work in the
past 30 years. Join us as <BR>we celebrate women's contributions to
information and communication work <BR>and the women's movement through the
launch of Collective Journeys at the <BR>World Summit on the Information Society
in Geneva, Switzerland on 09 <BR>December 2003.<BR><BR>The website, </FONT><A
href="http://www.collectivejourneys.org"><FONT face="Times New Roman"
size=3>www.collectivejourneys.org</FONT></A><FONT face="Times New Roman"
color=#253a50 size=3>, will highlight the significant <BR>events, innovations
and initiatives by women's organisations that have <BR>successfully used
information tools for their advocacy work. An enriched <BR>historical timeline
is also featured on the site with links to full stories <BR>and will eventually
host multimedia clips and content from the <BR>organisations featured. Site
visitors will be able to get in touch with <BR>organisations through a
comprehensive directory of women's information and <BR>communication
organisations.<BR><BR>For those who will be in Geneva for the Summit, the launch
will take place <BR>on 09 December from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Jura Conference
