Hi all,
the human rights caucus has secured a four-hour time slot for a side event
at the PrepCom next week. We will get two of the four hours, as agreed
with them a while ago. We now have the confirmation:
Thursday, 22 September, 14:00-18:00, room XXII
Human Rights in the Information Society: Where are we?
Translation: E/F/S, projector available
We have to decide:
- which two hours we want (14-16 or 16-19)
- what we want to present
- who can and wants to present
- and who can moderate this.
Therefore, the question to you at the moment:
Who of this group will be there?
I know of Robert Guerra, Daniel Boos, Rikke Frank Joergensen (though she
will probably be busy with the HR Caucus event), Karen Banks and myself.
Who else is there?
I would suggest something around WGIG and a general privacy impact
assessment of WSIS.
(I am currently at the international conference of data protection
commissioners in Montreux, and they have already referred to the WSIS/UN
and other international processes in the opening plenary that is just
taking place.)
We best have a face2face meeting in Geneva early next week to discuss all
the ideas.
Best,
Ralf
