EPIC is also very interested and wants to be involved in this, see below.
I think now it is important that our members who will be in Geneva next
week (Rikke, Karen, Avri) make a strong point and at least make the idea
stick and generate a discussion around this. We don't need (and won't get)
approval at first sight, just a discussion that stays on. ;-)

This is an excellent idea, but it should go forward in
collaboration with EPIC.
A few notes:
- The ICCPDP will not be held in Argentina this year.
- EPIC is hosting the "Berlin group" (the International Working Group
on Privacy and Telecommunications) this April in Washington, DC.
- EPIC is also working with the Article 29 WG on a joint
event next year
- The annual Privacy and Human Rights reports speaks
emphatically to the urgency of this issue. The Privacy Law
Sourcebook also includes many of the key international
instruments, including Art. 12 of the UDHR.
