the following are comments are from alice munyua re strategies for
advanacing the Gender and ICT agenda at national level..

Strategies for involving womens movement
Continue to develop a foundation for understanding how the ICT arena can be
transformed, made accessible and available to womenon an equal basis and be
a site of reformed gender relations including developing ideas around
reducing ecxisting disparities
a.. Developing capability for policy advocacy on gender equality and ICTs
through research analysis and action
b.. continue to strengthen advocacy efforts to change policy and practice
in the ICTs arena (CATIA/CRIS)
c.. Political negotiation: Build horizontal coalitions to mainstream
values and practices of gender equality in the ICT arena and partnerships
among state, civil society and private sector for regular assessment and
review
d.. identify and pursue opportunities for dialogue across regions on
gender equality objectives for media and ICT sectors
e.. Extend Section J review to full assessment of impacts of ICTs
