[Rio-GEM] Request to rio gem friends

Dear Rio gems,
Hope my e-mail will find you in best of your health. 
 
It is Rahat from Pakistan, a participant of Rio Gem Workshop. Hope some
you may remember me. 
 
We are working on a project named Information and Communication
Technologies for Development. (funded by IDRC). As a part of this
project we have provided internet facilities in one of the remote parts
of the country. I will appreciate if any body from you can help me by
sharing experiences on the following issues:
1. Blocking Prono Sites (For us this is one of main socio cultural
challenge in the way of ensuring access of women to internet)
2. Alternate Power Option for running IT centres in the remote village.
(A number of villages where we work do not have consistent power supply,
and the villager can not afford diesel generators.)
 
Your experiences can help us a lot to improve the access of women and
low income people from remote villages to computer and internet.
