Dear all,

The email discussion on rural transport services and on the paper “On
the move in rural areas” by Paul Starkey, John Hine, Simon Ellis and
Anna Ternell (renamed “ Improving rural mobility: options for
developing motorised and non-motorised transport”) is now officially
closed.

The aim of the email discussion was to open up the debate on rural
transport services so that it would generate different views and
perspective as well as stimulate a greater number of transport and
development professionals to consider, and act on, some of the issues
raised. We thank you for participating in this discussion and hope that it
has had benefits for each one of you.

We would greatly appreciate it if you would please answer the following
short questionnaire and send it to us at econf-ifrtd at gn.apc.org. This
will help us to evaluate the usefulness of the email discussion and to
know what to consider when designing future initiatives.

RTS EMAIL DISCUSSION EVALUATION QUESTIONNAIRE

Did participation in the email discussion add value to your work? If
    yes, how?
Do you have any plans for using the ideas from the discussion/in
the paper, in your work? If yes, please tell us what they are.
Did you have any difficulties in participating in the list? Do you
have any suggestions that may help improve participation?
Do you think an email discussion is an useful tool for generating
wider debate on rural transport issues? Are there any other tools
you would like to recommend we use?
Do you wish to be informed of any future email discussions that will
be organised by the IFRTD Secretariat on issues relating to rural
    transport?

The report of the dissemination workshop is being finalised and will be
sent to you in the next couple of days. After that we will ‘unsubscribe’
you from the list. If you have answered ‘yes’ to the last question we will
invite you to future discussions that we may organise.

Meanwhile, do remember that there is an open email discussion forum for
sharing information, initiating and participating in debates on rural
transport issues. This is the rural-transport-development list at
jiscmail.ac.uk (it was formerly at mailbase.ac.uk ). You will find details on
how to join this list at the end of this email (If you are already a
subscriber when it was hosted by mailbase, you don’t need to re-join).

Once again, many thanks for your time and for your interest in the rural
transport services discussion.

Best wishes
