Please note that "As Word is inevitable, open your backdoor and enjoy it"
is a HOAX. One doesn't have to: I don't want to. Many people can't either:
my father is 80 years old. He does translations and editing for Amnesty International
Switzerland and just asked being taken off the mailing list of their "newsletter"
because they send it as a Word attachment which he can't open on his i-Mac.

The same obtains here. If you send an invite for an event called "Exploring
the relationship between progress and our global social ethics", you probably
believe that society should have ethics, and information should have ethics.

Which format you choose to send this invitation in is indeed an ethical choice
- opting for .doc most likely does not correspond to your convictions or
those expressed in your attachment.

Can you please just copy-paste the content of the attachment in another e-mail,
or re-save it as an .rtf or - better - as an .html file?
