Dear Values & Ethics committee, Bahiyyih Dhaffers.

1- We received your confirmation: "Your mail to 'Values-ethics' with the subject: Talking about Values, Ethics and Netiquette (whom are you hoping to take in, Mr Ebbeler?)
2- That it: "Is being held until the list moderator can review it for approval".
3- That: "The reason it is being held: Post by non-member to a members-only list. Either the message will get posted to the list, or you will receive notification of the moderator's decision".

We have not done anything unethical, or, at least, we had no intentions to do so. We have sent the same E-mail Mr. Almansi (who we do not know for he is not on the list we received from the UN. I have no clue how he got our mail) is talking about to Rwanda, The Czech Republic (Mr. Pavel / Min. of Foreign Affairs) and so on and so forth. Al together some 300 mails went out yesterday and most responded with great interest in some 7 hours.

If we have done anything to offend the committee we apologize. Furthermore we ask you to send us your list of Netiquette. If have asked IBM, The University of Amsterdam and some other partners if they could send it to us but they have not got it in their position either. The only one I can think of is Mr. Pall Thorhallson from the Council of Europe (Human Rights Issues). I'll mail him this week and ask him.

Awaiting your respons,
Dr. Robert Ebbeler

Dear Claude,

You say that your country is full of luddites. It seems the case.

Anyway, today a lot of emails went out (the same you've received). After I received your first mail I sent it also to our contacts within the UN, the World Bank, the University of Amsterdam and some others, just to ask them if they had the same problem you had. I just spoke to the last one in New York. None of them had the problem you had.

I also received some mails from colleagues of yours and myself. It seems that you are sending them your (spam) mail through BCC. Talking about Values, Ethics and Netiquette?

What we normally would ask you to do is to send us an apology. If you are a man with such high standards, knowledge and ethical feelings then you would do so and you would send it also to those you had sent the first one, apologies to them and give us a copy through cc.

This mail is on its way to those mentioned above, WSIS and our official and/or strategic partners (IBM / MSN / Deloitte).

Sorry about this Claude, but you are not one to be trusted. I hope to hear from you in a more positive way the next time. Who knows, maybe then you can work together with some university's on behalf of the UWVF and experience closely what it is becoming and is achieving in the field of ICT R&D (and not only for spoilt-by-broadband ICT-illiterates).

Regards,
Robert
