If anyone would know, sounds like it would be you as you have been following
IGC. Any suggestions will be most welcome.Not sure if IGC is accepting
nominations from other caucuses or should we submit directly to IGF.

Hello all,

 

First of all I am happy to report that three authors have confirmed that
they would be willing to write a contribution to the compendium we consider
to produce and publish in the context of the IGF. 

 

Regarding the NomCom: I am grateful for your confidence and I would be
interested to participate in the IGF setup process representing the ethics &
values caucus. However I am really involved in my research and should we
have several candidates I am happy to step aside (ensure swift consensus)
and support and collaborate with our nominees. I am also unclear how we want
to submit our nominations.

Dear Shaila,

 

Good point but we should be also more focused on people who are very
involved and informed about values and ethics as their agenda, hence my
suggestion of Liberato and Max. Also gender caucus will already be giving
their list of names. For gender balance and people involved in these issues,
we could add Bahiyyih Chauffers and/or perhaps one more from the Brahma
Kumaris as well. In any case, if we have no clarity on process of agreeing
to names and the process of submitting, it may be that you and the others
will have to self-nominate anyway.

 

Liberato and Bahiyyih- for sure we should at minimum submit your names as
you are the co-convenors so kindly take this up and see how you want to
handle this. Max is very involved in IGF discussions and could help serve as
our point of contact for submitting names. Process again would help give us
some clarity on how to be involved. 

 

Max or Liberato- could you help?

I am very pleased  that two names are being proposed and have confidence in
them.  However, I would like to ensure that we ourselves do not fall into
the trap of gender bias. In this respect I would like to volunteer to serve
on the NomCom.I know that most of you are cognizant with my background.
