Hi everybody

I checked for 'the latest plan' regarding the IGF. I understand
http://www.intgovforum.org/athens_outline.htm is the most reliable info.
Also I found the following 'informal update' on the IGC list:

>1. Call for contributions: Deadline 15 July 2006 This is about _written

>contributions_ that would inform the debate, elaborate a specific

>issue, or make proposals for future policy reform.

>All contributions received by that date will be translated into all 6

>UN languages and compiled into one big documentation for the IFG (which

>of course will also be put on the website).

>2. Proposals for workshops: Deadline 31 August 2006 This is when we

>have to submit proposals for _workshops_ in Athens. The advisory group

>IIRC will choose the workshops that get accepted.

>General message: The more multistakeholder it is, the better the

>chances to get into the official IGF programme.

The 15th July date is obviously not for us. But if there is interest we
could prepare a workshop proposal !?

Another (?additional?) option is to prepare a statement(s) and have them
broadcasted (see below)

(parts of the )Athens Outline from the official website
http://www.intgovforum.org/athens_outline.htm: Workshops

Workshops will focus on the specific issues relevant to the Athens meeting
themes as well as on other topic of relevance to Internet Governance.
Workshops dealing with topics being dealt with in the main meeting will not
be scheduled at the same time as the main meeting. The staggered schedule
should allow those who are interested in the subject to attend both the
general meeting and workshops on the same topic.

Any subject on Internet governance can be scheduled for a workshop. While
many workshops will be oriented within the specific daily themes, a number
of workshops slots each day will be made available to deal with important
topics that do not fit easily within the five main themes of the conference
but which are nonetheless of importance to many of the stakeholders. All
workshops will be audiocast.

Workshops will be structured to be interactive allowing for open discussion.
Prepared Statements

One of the principles behind the meeting is to allow for interactive
discussion of the issues before the IGF and to minimize the time given to
prepared statements. The importance of prepared statements is recognized,
however, and provisions will be made for the video recording and
broadcasting of all statements, both within the meeting areas and on line.
Each delegation and all stakeholder groups will be given the opportunity to
record a five minute statement that will be broadcast in a loop at various
locations in the venue. These statements will also be made available on the
IGF website both in video and in document form.
Participation

The meeting will be held in an open and inclusive format. All WSIS- and
ECOSOC-accredited entities will be admitted. In addition, other entities and
persons with proven expertise and experience in matters related to Internet
governance may apply to register as participants.
