Defining some of the values most applicable to the infosoc would seem a
good step forward; coupled perhaps with examples/illustrations of good
practice of them.<br>

Ethics’ (by Linus Torval
– the programmer behind linux, Himanen – a finish sociologist, and
Manuel Castells – the scientific leader of my programme). The book
recognises that in the (rich) information societies ‘new ethical
motivations/practices’ are at work. There are some good points made,
there
are some points I had to critique, and overall the book made me think
quite a
bit and start formulate some ideas in what direction a discourse on
post-geographical (cosmopolitan) ethics & values could take.
