To all looking for new kit. I can thoroughly recommend Myriad and Powerlog
from PSquared. Myriad is simple to use, easy to automate for overnights and
we've had no real problems with it, (apart from a few crashes at
non-critical times). Powerlog is a godsend, and worth thinking about if
you're planning an RSL. No more video tapes...... (bliss!!) They even hire
it by the month.
 
As for other kit, the most expensive item in our studio is the pair of
Technics SL1210MKII's we have for our Dancey DJ's. In addition we have 2
Denon CD players and 2 Denon MD players. In total the lot came to about
£1500. It is worth thinking about getting decent quality kit. Remember it's
going to be bashed, prodded and abused for 12 months
