London students are linking their RSL station 101.4Angel FM with youth and
student stations in Sunderland and Wolverhampton.
101.4 Angel FM's Chris Mason, a postgraduate at City University London, will
be linking live to Kic FM in Wolverhampton as part of his daily two-hour
show
In Conversation (1000-1200 Monday to Friday). And he's also touching base
with Utopia FM, broadcasting live from the University of Sunderland.
'The idea is to get students and young people talking about issues they have
in common and also the so-called North-South divide - does it really exist
?' says Angel FM station manager Jan Haworth, who runs City's postgraduate
diploma in broadcast journalism. The link-ups (on the phone and ISDN) will
form part of a live debate which anyone can join in - listeners outside the
transmission areas can hook up to the website www.angelradio.co.uk .
101.4Angel FM will be broadcasting from March 11th to 22nd inclusive. For
