FYI, the Swahili version of OpenOffice is available. This is a first (out before
Microsoft's Swahili localization) and it will be interesting to see how it
fares. If I understand correctly this is the Tanzanian Swahili version - how
well will it be received in Kenya, or are their plans for a Kenyan version?

Today, 4th December 2004, The Open Swahili Localization Project, also known as
Kilinux, is proud to announce the first ever release of a free office suite
software in Swahili, called "Jambo OpenOffice." 

Jambo OpenOffice is the Swahili version of OpenOffice.org, a leading
