Not as long as I have a hole in my arse ;-)
What we have to remember is that in the past we have said X legislation will
put an end to dissent or will jeopardise dissent; 1984 Public Order Act,
1991 Criminal Justice and Public Order, Prevention of Terrorism, etc. Fact
is we are smarter than they are, and this is our territory not theirs. I
think the Scrambling for Safety conference the other month demonstrated this
perfectly. The British government are about two years behind the
technology - they can't even organise a national strategy to get their
population IT literate, they got fleeced by the industry over Y2K, and will
continue to be fleeced by anyone with more than a grain of IT savvy. Let's
face it, we've been using the technology for longer, know more about it, and
thus can out manoeuvre them.
Let's be positive! The more people Mr. Straw alienates, the more people
become exposed to alternative ways of thinking. So come on all you geeks,
activists, teachers, propagandists and general miscreants; let's show HM
government what dissent is. The fight for this one has only just started
let's not talk of the "RIP to Dissent".
Pete
