Investigative Journalism Advisor
Location: Phnom Penh, Cambodia

Internews Network is currently seeking a Resident Journalism Advisor  
(RA) to work on an investigative journalism project operating in  
Phnom Penh,Cambodia. The RA will oversee and conduct print journalism  
training programs, mentor reporters and editors, and provide expert  
advice and guidance on investigative reporting for journalists and  
editors throughout the country.

Responsibilities include:

Providing one-on-one mentoring to journalists engaged in  
investigative reporting. This includes assisting with drafting story  
outlines and research timetables, identifying information sources,  
and holding consultations with editors and reporters inside and  
outside of the newsroom.
Conducting a series of ‘refresher’ training courses on investigative  
reporting skills for journalists and editors who have already  
completed advanced training.
Designing and administering a journalism competition to evaluate  
works of investigative reporting and award recognition to outstanding  
work.
Identifying and supporting journalist and editors to serve as peer  
mentors following the conclusion of the program.
Designing and implementing a small grants program for journalists and  
editors to cover the costs associated with investigative reporting.
Representing Internews to funders, partners, and aid organizations  
working in or associated with the media sector in Cambodia
QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates should have at least 5 years’ experience in journalism,  
with significant experience in investigative and print journalism.  
The proven ability to mentor and train is required. Experience living/ 
working in Cambodia or Southeast Asia is preferred, as is experience  
working on grant-funded projects.
