I just went back a re read Ian's message.  I did not interpret it as

Since I already put out the idea of trying to get to consensus and no  
one objected, and have now called for consensus, I think I will just  
let that process run out.

I don't think indicating a preference for someone is, in any sense a  
rejection of the others, but each of us can make that decision for  
ourselves.

If we don't reach consensus by Monday, then we can vote.  I have  
found a site where it would cost me 38 USD to set up a vote.  While  
that is a lot, it may be worth my making the investment just to have  
a real vote if we need one.  I am still looking for other  
alternatives.  I am fine with having people send me the names, but as  
you say some might consider it illegitimate and I would rather not  
have the the chairs tainted by any claims of illegitimacy.
