Dear GreenNet users,

We would like to apologise for the disruption to our services on Thursday
5-10-00.

This was due to ugrade work being performed by UUnet, who provide our
connection to the Internet, going wrong. This effectively severed our
Internet link to the outside world and resulted in our users being unable
to collect their incoming mail between 4am and 2pm. Connection to the
Internet and sending mail was unaffected.

UUnet have other work scheduled for coming weeks, which may involve loss
of connectivity between 4am and 7am that we have advised you of in
previous e-mails, and we have received reassurances from UUnet that
they do not anticipate any network problems outside those times.

Best Wishes

Phil Carr

for the GreenNet Collective
